UZIO Time Tracking Enhancements — February 2026

This article covers all Time Tracking improvements included in the February 2026 release.

New Break Eligibility Rules

For businesses with complex break requirements — such as those operating under California labor laws or Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) — UZIO now offers greater control over how break eligibility and missed breaks are defined and tracked.

A new Break Eligibility and Missed Break Identification section has been added to Break Rule configuration, with two modes:

  • By Recurring Time Interval — existing behavior, unchanged.
  • By Custom Time Interval — new mode that allows admins to define precise eligibility thresholds and specific windows within which each break must be taken.

In Custom Time Interval mode, admins can configure multiple breaks (Break 1, Break 2, etc.), each with its own eligibility threshold and required take-between windows. If a break is not recorded within its configured window, it is automatically flagged as missed and handled according to your existing Missed Break resolution settings.

Additionally, Break Waivers can now be configured per break in Custom mode, giving employees the ability to waive eligible breaks under controlled conditions. Admins can set optional duration limits and require that prior breaks are taken before a subsequent break can be waived.

For full setup details, refer to the Break Rules Setup article.

Configuration to Set the Schedule View Start Day

Admins can now control which day of the week the scheduler grid starts on, making it easier to align the schedule view with your company's work week.

A new Schedule View Start Day setting is available at the company level under Scheduling Settings. Once configured, the selected start day will apply across:

  • The Schedule grid (Weekly view)
  • Budgets
  • Schedule PDF and XLS downloads
  • Employee Schedule views on both the web portal and mobile app

This setting can be updated at any time by users with full Schedule access.

Missing Clock Out Enhancement

Finding and resolving missing clock-outs is now faster and more visible for both employers and employees.

The Missing Clock Out section is now expanded by default whenever the Time Entry page is opened — on the Employer Portal and Manager Portal — so administrators can immediately see any outstanding items without having to manually expand the section each time.

When an employee submits a missing clock-out time, the system automatically notifies the employer and routes the change for approval according to your configured workflow.

Sending Kiosk PIN to Employees

Admins can now resend a kiosk PIN to an employee directly from the Employee List, without needing to navigate elsewhere in the system.

A new Send Kiosk PIN action is available in the Employee List Action Menu on the Employer and Partner Client Admin portals.

Please note: This action is only available when the employee is enrolled in Time Tracking and at least one kiosk is configured for the company.

More Granular Control Over Mobile and Web Time Tracking

Employers can now independently control clock-in, clock-out, and break actions on both Mobile and Web time tracking — providing more precise restrictions based on business needs.

Previously, the 'Restrict Clock In and Clock Out' setting blocked all time clock actions, including breaks. The setting has now been separated into three independent controls:

  • Restrict only clock in
  • Restrict only clock out
  • Restrict only break in and break out

For example, if your employees are required to clock in and clock out through a Kiosk only, but are allowed to manage their break in and break out through the mobile app, you can now configure exactly that — restricting clock in and clock out on Mobile and Web, while keeping break actions available on mobile.

Each setting applies only to its configured platform, and functions in offline mode.

For existing clients: If clock-in and clock-out restrictions were previously enabled, all three new controls will be automatically turned on to preserve your existing configuration.

Greater Control Over Early Clock-Ins

Employers now have expanded control over early clock-ins across both scheduled and non-scheduled work environments.

  • The existing setting continues to restrict clock-ins relative to a scheduled shift start time.
  • A new time-based restriction allows employers to prevent clock-ins before a defined time, applicable when shifts are not scheduled.

These controls apply across Mobile, Web, and Kiosk, respect work location time zones, and function in offline mode.

Kiosk Break Restriction

Employers can now restrict break actions specifically on kiosk devices. When enabled, only Clock In and Clock Out are available on the kiosk — break actions are hidden entirely.

This setting applies to all configured kiosks and is visible only when at least one kiosk has been added.

Improved Clarity in Time Clock Settings

A usability improvements have been made to reduce confusion in time clock settings:

  • The button label 'End Break and Clock In' has been simplified to 'End Break' across Mobile, Web, and Kiosk — functionality is unchanged.
