Integration with DailyPay for Earned Wage Access

UZIO now integrates with DailyPay, a leading Earned Wage Access (EWA) provider. Once enabled, your employees can access a portion of the wages they have already earned before payday.

Why this matters

Employees increasingly expect access to their pay as they earn it. DailyPay handles the advance, the fees, and the repayment on its side — UZIO keeps DailyPay supplied with accurate hours and payroll data, and routes the employee’s pay to their DailyPay Account. There is no new payroll step for administrators: no deduction to set up, no repayment to process, and nothing to reconcile.

How it works

DailyPay works differently from a deduction-based EWA. While an employee is enrolled with DailyPay, their DailyPay Account becomes the destination for their net pay. DailyPay deducts any advances the employee has already taken plus applicable fees, and forwards the remainder to the employee’s own bank account.

Once a company is integrated with DailyPay:

  • UZIO securely sends DailyPay the employee roster, daily hours worked, payroll results after each approved payroll, and terminations — automatically, every day.
  • DailyPay sends back enrollment instructions each day. When an employee enrolls, UZIO begins routing their net pay to their DailyPay Account from the effective date. When an employee cancels, their own saved bank accounts and splits resume automatically on the next payroll — exactly as they had them set up before.
  • The payroll process does not change. You run payroll the way you do today; the routing happens behind the scenes.
  • Employees enroll and cancel entirely through DailyPay — there is nothing for employees to do in UZIO.

What employees see

  • On the Payment Method screen (web portal and the UZIO mobile app), enrolled employees see their DailyPay Account listed as their pay destination, with a short explanation.

  • Their own saved bank accounts remain on file but are shown as Paused and cannot be edited or deleted while DailyPay is active. Nothing is deleted — the accounts come straight back when the employee cancels DailyPay.
  • The PDF pay stub carries a note showing that the paycheck was routed to DailyPay. Older pay stubs continue to display exactly as they did when issued.
  • DailyPay account details follow the company’s Sensitive Field Visibility settings, so each role sees only what it is permitted to see.
  • Employees who are not enrolled see no change at all.

What payroll administrators should know

Enrolled employees cannot be paid by check. On the payroll grid, the Check option is unavailable for these employees, and the “pay everyone by check” run option skips them. This is required — DailyPay must receive the net pay in order to settle the employee’s advances.

Getting started

DailyPay is enabled per company, with an effective start date, and UZIO Time Tracking is required. To enable this integration, please reach out to the UZIO support team at support@uzio.com

OBBBA: Qualified Overtime Tracking for W-2 Reporting

What’s required

Beginning with tax year 2026, every W-2 must report the employee’s qualified overtime — a federal requirement under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). Only the federal overtime premium qualifies: the extra “half” of time-and-a-half for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek. State daily overtime does not qualify, and overtime-exempt employees are always $0.

What UZIO does, and what you do

UZIO records this amount for every employee, on every payroll, throughout the year — record-keeping only; it never changes anyone’s pay, and employees see nothing until the W-2. You work with it in two places: the Qualified OT Premium column on the payroll grid, and the Manage Qualified Overtime screen in the Payroll menu.

If you use UZIO Time Tracking — the amount is calculated automatically, and every 2026 payroll processed in UZIO is already covered. If you moved to UZIO during 2026, the amounts for the months with your previous provider have in most cases already been imported — where anything is still needed, the UZIO team will reach out to you directly.Open the Manage Qualified Overtime screen once to confirm your year is complete.

If you don’t use UZIO Time Tracking — enter the amounts with each run, and backfill earlier 2026 periods — including time with a previous payroll provider — on the Manage Qualified Overtime screen.

One thing to watch: amounts from different sources add together — do not re-enter an amount you have already entered on a payroll run.

OBBBA: Tipped Occupation Codes for W-2 Reporting

What’s required

Beginning with tax year 2026, employees who work in tipped occupations can claim a federal tax deduction on their qualified tips — but only if their W-2 reports the tips along with a Treasury Tipped Occupation Code (TTOC), an IRS-published code identifying the tipped occupation. The IRS recognizes 71 tipped occupations; an employee without a code cannot claim the deduction — their tips continue to be reported exactly as they are today.

What you need to do

Assign each tipped employee’s code once, on the employee profile under Payroll → Occupation Code — a searchable list of the 71 occupations; up to two codes per employee. It has no effect on payroll or pay stubs, and employees see nothing until the W-2, where the code and qualified tips print automatically at year-end. Note the TTOC is not the SOC code used for state wage reporting — the two are independent. If you have many tipped employees, send the list (employee ID, name, TTOC) to support@uzio.com and the team will import them for you.
