UZIO Employer Portal Enhancements
New Home Page with Compliance & Risk Alerts and Action Center
We are excited to introduce the new UZIO Employer Dashboard experience. This release delivers a centralized, real-time dashboard designed to help employers monitor workforce activity, manage pending actions, identify compliance risks, and detect employee configuration issues from a single location.
This has been enabled for selective DSPs, with rollout to all remaining DSPs completing this week. If you're a non-DSP partner and would like this enabled, please reach out to us at support@uzio.com.
Key enhancements include:
-
Live Workforce Banner with real-time employee activity
-
“Your Action Needed” section for approvals and missing actions
-
New Alerts & Insights area covering Time Tracking, HR, Employee Data, and Payroll
-
Date Range and Pay Group filtering
-
Compliance monitoring for work hours, rest gaps, overtime risks, and payroll issues
-
Manager Override % tracking for DSP customers
-
Improved visibility into employee setup and onboarding gaps
The dashboard also introduces role-based visibility, configurable metrics, and simplified navigation to relevant employee records and actions.

UZIO Payroll Enhancements
Payroll Anomaly Detection
UZIO now checks every payroll for fraud, errors, and compliance risks — automatically, and before payroll is approved. Previously, issues like duplicate bank accounts, terminated employees still being paid, or unusually high paychecks were only caught after the fact, often in a report or not at all.
What's New
Two new safeguards now surface these risks directly inside UZIO. The "Your Action Needed" section is being replaced by a Payroll Action Center that flags issues continuously in the background. A second safeguard, the Payroll Health Check, scans each payroll run right before you approve it. Both show you exactly which employees are affected and let you act on them.
Payroll Action Center — catch issues before payroll even starts
A background scan runs on a schedule and surfaces risks on your Payroll Dashboard, independent of any payroll run. Findings are grouped by type (for example, "Shared bank account across 3 employees") so the list stays clean, and a pay-group filter lets you focus on the population you're reviewing.
Examples of preventive checks:
-
Multiple employees share the same bank account (routing + account)
-
Multiple employees share the same home address
-
Employee bank account changed since last payroll
-
Employee home address changed since last payroll
-
Active employee excluded from payroll but has time-tracking hours
-
Pending time-off requests for employees in the current pay period
-
Terminated employee still carries an outstanding PTO balance
-
Employee enrolled in a benefit but no company deduction configured
Payroll Health Check — a final scan before you approve
After payroll is calculated but before it's approved, the Payroll Health Check runs an automatic scan on the Payroll Summary page. A banner shows the scan status, and a slide-in panel lists each finding on a compact card tied to that specific payroll run.
Examples of payroll-dependent checks:
-
Individual net paycheck exceeds threshold (default $10,000)
-
Employee net pay varies sharply from prior period (default >25%)
-
New hire's first paycheck with this employer
-
Total payroll cost spike or drop
-
Working hours exceed threshold
-
Work-location state ≠ tax-calculation state
-
PTO balance payout on termination
-
Active employee missing from the current payroll run
Audit Trail & Compliance
Every anomaly is recorded behind the scenes — what was found, who reviewed it, and when. This becomes part of the permanent payroll record and supports audits and fraud investigations.
How It Works
Every check can be turned on or off, and thresholds (such as the net-pay limit or hours cap) can be tuned per employer under Payroll Settings. Fraud-related checks are always on and cannot be disabled. For each anomaly, users can acknowledge it or resolve it by fixing the underlying issue.
Note: the Payroll Action Center reflects the latest status after you refresh it once anomalies have been actioned. If you don't refresh manually, a daily batch job runs before business hours and updates the list automatically.
UZIO Time Tracking Enhancements
Employers can now Accept / Reject time entry changes made by employees
Managers can now review, accept, or reject employee-submitted time entry changes before they affect payroll. When an employee manually adds a new time entry or modifies an existing one, the change enters a pending state and is held until an employer user acts on it.
What’s new
-
New pending view: When an employee manually adds a new time entry, it shows as ‘New entry pending for approval’ on the time card. Break details are hidden until accepted. The entry does not count toward payroll totals until it is accepted.
-
Existing Time Entry Changes: When an employee manually edits an existing time entry, it shows as ‘X Modifications by Employee’ section on the time card. This section shows the old and the new values of all the fields changed by employees and their impacts. The rest of the time the entry card remains as is, until accepted by the employer. The hours are also not updated till the employer accepts the modifications.
-
Employee cancel actions: Employees cannot re-edit while a change is pending. They can ‘Cancel Modifications’ from the X modification by Employee section or ‘Delete’ to remove a pending new entry.
-
Accept / Reject: Employer users can Accept or Reject pending changes directly from the time card. On acceptance, payroll hours recalculate immediately. On rejection, a new manually-added entry is deleted entirely; a modification to an existing entry reverts to its previous state. An optional reason and employee email notification are available on rejection.
-
Clock-out restriction: If an employee tries to clock out while modifications are pending on a running entry, the clock-out is blocked. They can ask the manager to act, or cancel the modifications and clock out immediately.
-
History: All actions are logged in Time Entry History — modifications, cancellations, acceptances, and rejections — with a full audit trail.
-
Reports: Pending changes are never reflected in reports. Reports update only after acceptance. On rejection or cancellation, reports remain unchanged.
Terminated Employee Now Available in Time Entries Report
The Time Entries report previously excludes records for employees who have been removed from the time tracking system or terminated. This has been enhanced and now the report includes time entries for all employees who have at least one time entry ever in the past—regardless of their current association with the time tracking system or employment status—provided they have recorded time entries within the selected date range.
UZIO HRIS Enhancement
I-9 Section 2 — Employer Job Title Now Captured
USCIS Form I-9 Section 2 mandates capturing the Employer's Job Title under 8 CFR §274a.2 (16 March 2026). With this release, a Job Title field is now displayed in Section 2, auto-populated from the logged-in user's profile (mandatory if not set). The title is reflected in the I-9 PDF, included in the E-Verify case creation payload, and added as a column in Custom Reports.
Streamlined I-9 Reassignment with E-Verify
Previously, reassigning Form I-9 for an employee with an existing E-Verify case would lead to duplicate case errors, open case violations, and USCIS submission rejections — all requiring manual support intervention to fix. With this release, Uzio automatically detects the employee's E-Verify case status during reassignment and handles it correctly. The entire process is now compliant and self-serve.
Reason for Reassignment
Employers must now select a reason before reassigning Form I-9 (e.g., Incorrect Personal Details, TNC, Rehire). An attestation confirms the old I-9 stays on record for compliance.
Active E-Verify Case - Close Before Reassigning
If an open case exists, Uzio prompts the employer to close it first by selecting a closure reason fetched live from E-Verify. Once confirmed, the new I-9 is assigned automatically.
Unconfirmed Data Case - Reassignment Blocked
Reassignment is blocked until the employee resolves the pending case with E-Verify directly, in line with USCIS guidelines. Employer should connect with Uzio support team to resolve the pending case before reassigning a new I-9 form.
Closed E-Verify Case - Auto-Mapped Duplicate Case Reason
If the employee has a previously closed E-Verify case, USCIS requires a Duplicate Case Reason when a new case is submitted. Uzio handles this automatically and it maps the correct reason based on what you selected in the Reassignment Reason step and displays it for your review before you confirm.
