Purpose
The Celebrations section on the home page lists upcoming birthdays and work anniversaries, so recognition does not depend on somebody remembering. It appears on the employer home page and on the employee home page, and it is on by default.
Who sees this: every employer-portal and employee-portal user. You can switch off the detail shown to employees. See Hide the section from employees.
What appears
| Event | What is shown |
|---|---|
| Birthdays | The employee's name and the date. The birth year is never shown |
| Work anniversaries | The employee's name and the anniversary date |
The section covers events up to 60 days ahead and 15 days back, so a celebration you missed last week is still on the card.
Celebrations also feed the UZIO calendar, which carries a Celebrations iCalendar feed you can subscribe to from Google, Outlook or iCal.
Note: If your company is on UZIO's newer home page, the Compliance Dashboard, the layout of the home page differs and the Celebrations card may sit elsewhere or not appear. The calendar and its Celebrations feed are unaffected.
Where the dates come from
Birthdays come from the employee's date of birth and work anniversaries from the hire date, both held on the employee record. A wrong date on the card is a wrong date on the record, and correcting it there corrects the card. See Managing Employee Records.
Hide the section from employees
Celebrations is visible by default. To switch it off:
- Go to Settings > Preferences and click Edit.
- Set "Do you want to hide the details from Celebrations section on the employee portal?" to Yes.
- Click Update.
The setting is worded for the employee portal, so employees stop seeing the detail. Whether your own employer-portal card is suppressed at the same time is not documented; check your home page after you save. See Managing Employer Preferences.
Note: UZIO never publishes an employee's birth year here, but the birth date is visible to colleagues while the section is on. There is no per-employee opt-out. If someone asks not to be listed, the only control available is this company-wide setting, so agree the approach with them before you decide.
