Purpose
Manage Resources publishes links and files to your employees in one place: policies, handbooks, benefits collateral, how-to guides, links to outside sites. Employees open them from Resources on their own portal. Nothing has to be hosted elsewhere, and nothing has to be emailed round.
Who can do this: users whose role includes Manage Resources access under Company Access. The Employer Administrator has it by default, and a custom role can grant it. See Understanding Roles and Access.
Resources or the Document Library?
The two look similar and they are not interchangeable.
| Use Resources for | Use the Document Library for |
|---|---|
| Reference material employees read: policies, guides, benefit summaries, outside links | Documents employees must sign, acknowledge or complete, and documents assigned to named people |
| Read-only. Nothing comes back to you | Tracked. You can see who has completed what |
If you need proof that an employee has read or signed something, it belongs in the Document Library, not here.
Add a resource
- Go to HR Tools > Manage Resources in the left navigation. The Resources page lists everything already added, published or not.
- Click Add Resources.
- Complete the form.
- Click Save & Continue.
| Field | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Name | The title employees see in their Resources list. Make it stand on its own; it is all an employee has to go on |
| Description | A short line saying what the resource covers |
| Reference Name | The label on the individual link or file inside the resource |
| Reference Link | The web address that reference opens |
| Browse file | Upload a file instead of linking out. Word documents, PDFs, spreadsheets and presentations are all supported |
| Add More References | Adds another Reference Name plus link or file, so one resource can hold several documents |
Saving is not publishing. A resource you save is visible to you in the Employer Portal, and to your broker if one administers your account. It is not visible to employees until you publish it.

Publish, edit and delete
Every row on the Resources page carries an Actions menu.
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Edit | Reopens the resource so you can change its details or its references |
| Publish | Makes the resource visible to employees on their portal |
| Delete | Removes the resource from the broker, employer and employee portals |
Warning: Delete removes the resource everywhere at once, including for employees who have it open. Where a document has simply gone out of date, edit the resource and replace the file or link instead. That keeps the entry employees have already learned to look for.
How employees see it
Employees open Resources from their portal menu, or from the Quick Links section of their home page. Selecting a resource opens it in a new window. Resources are read-only for the employee: there is nothing to complete, and nothing is reported back to you.
Publishing applies to everyone. There is no way to publish a resource to one class, location or group only, so material meant for part of your workforce is better handled as an assigned document.
Note: If a broker administers your account, resources the broker adds are visible and manageable by you, and yours by them. That applies before publishing as well as after, so treat an unpublished resource as visible to your broker.
Still stuck?
If a published resource is not appearing for employees, or an uploaded file will not open, please reach out to us at support@uzio.com or call +1-571-601-1752. Send the resource name, whether it is a link or an uploaded file, the name of an employee who cannot see it, and a screenshot of what they do see under Resources.
