Accessing Your Employer Profile and Account Settings

Modified on Mon, 14 Sep at 1:58 PM

Purpose

Your employer account has two kinds of settings. Company Information is the profile of the business: name, EIN, industry code, contact details and work locations. Account Information is about you as a portal user: your name, login email, password, two-step verification and, where enabled, the display name and contact details your employees see. This article shows where each lives and what depends on it. The detailed how-to for each area is linked from its section.

Who can do this: the Employer Administrator. Users with a custom role see these pages only if their role grants access to the area. Roles are explained in Understanding Roles and Access.

Employer administration is done in the Employer Portal on the web. The UZIO Mobile App is for employees and Reporting Managers and does not include these pages.

Company Information

From the global menu, click Company Information. Use the Edit icon on a section to update it:

SectionWhat it holds
Company InformationCompany name, SIC (industry) code, EIN, number of employees and similar profile data
Contact InformationBusiness address, phone number and contact details
Work LocationsYour primary work location and any secondary or additional locations

The Company Master (work locations, departments, divisions, job titles) is covered in Setting Up Company Master Information.

What these details affect

Company details are not just a profile. Several other modules read them.

  • Pay stubs. The pay stub header shows your company's legal name and FEIN. Both come from your company record.
  • Tax filings. Payroll tax compliance files are produced under the company legal name. If your legal name changes (for example after a merger or an entity change), the change must reach payroll before the next filing. Your legal name and EIN are entered and confirmed during payroll setup. See Confirming Company Information for Payroll and Adding Federal Tax Information.
  • State withholding. Your company address is the primary work location. Where an employee works decides which state's income tax is withheld. Every additional location where employees work must exist as a work location. See Adding Company Address Information.
  • E-Verify. If you use E-Verify, each hiring site corresponds to a UZIO work location. See E-Verify Overview and Enrollment.
  • W-2s. Year-end forms are produced per EIN. Keep the EIN and legal name correct all year, not only in January.

Warning: Changing the EIN or legal name after payroll is live affects tax deposits and filings already in progress. Confirm the change with your accountant, then contact UZIO Support before you edit it.

Account Information

From the global menu, click Account Information. In the July 2026 portal this page is organized in tabs. The names below are as captured on a live account and may differ slightly on yours.

TabWhat you do there
My ProfileView and edit your own name and email address as the portal administrator
Login AccountsChange Username (the email you sign in with) and Change Password. After a password change you are asked to sign in again. Full steps and troubleshooting: Changing Your Password or Username
2-Step VerificationSet up or manage two-step verification for your own login. See Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Custom SettingsSet the display name, display email address and display customer care number your employees see in UZIO emails and support prompts

Changing your own login email here does not change any employee's login. Employee usernames are managed from the Employees page. See Viewing and Editing Employee Usernames.

Custom Settings

Custom Settings lets your employees see your company's name and HR contact details instead of the UZIO defaults when UZIO sends them system emails or shows them a help prompt. Use it when you want employees to contact your HR team, not UZIO, with questions.

Custom Settings is off by default. It is switched on for an account by UZIO, so the tab may not appear on your portal.

Still stuck?

If you need Custom Settings enabled, or the tab is missing after it was enabled, please reach out to us at support@uzio.com or call +1-571-601-1752. Include your company name and EIN, the display name, email address and phone number you want employees to see, and a screenshot of your Account Information page.
