UZIO Time Tracking Enhancements

Individual Time Entry Review

A new Review Checkbox has been introduced at the time entry level to help managers track which employee time entries have been reviewed, enabling more efficient finalization of time entries prior to payroll processing.

Things to Note

  • The review checkbox is a visual indicator that helps managers track reviewed time entries.
  •  It does not restrict edits, approvals, or payroll processing.

How to Configure

  • This feature can be enabled using the setting “Allow managers to review employee time entries?”, available on the Time Clock page, under Time Tracking settings.
  • Admin users and managers with permission to manage employee time entries can mark a time card as Reviewed or Not Reviewed by selecting the checkbox available on the time entry header.

Clock In Restrictions for Unscheduled Shifts

To provide employers with greater control over time-tracking accuracy and payroll integrity, two new configuration settings have been introduced. These settings are useful for organizations that rely on published work schedules and want to prevent employees from clocking in without an assigned shift or outside their scheduled work hours. Enabling these restrictions helps ensure that time entries align with planned schedules and reduces the risk of unauthorized time entries. These settings are available under Time Tracking → Time Tracking Settings → Schedule.

  • Restrict Clock-In Without Published Shifts — Employees cannot clock in on days when no shift has been published for them.
  • Restrict Clock-In Into Unscheduled Shifts — Employees cannot clock in outside their published shift.

Things to note

  • Both settings are off by default and can be enabled independently based on the organization's requirements.
  • The restrictions apply to real time clock-ins from the Mobile app, Web portal, and Kiosk, while manual time entries and edits remain unaffected.

Improved Timesheet Page User Experience

The Employee Timesheet page has been enhanced to improve navigation and make it easier to review multiple employee records while working with filtered results

  • Search and Filter Retention — Previously, search and filter selections were cleared when navigating away from the employee list. Filters are now retained when moving between employee records, allowing users to continue working with the same filtered results.
  • Filtered Previous / Next Navigation — Previously, the Previous and Next buttons navigated through all employee records regardless of applied filters. Navigation now respects the applied filters, allowing users to move only through employees included in the filtered list.
  • Filters Persist in Detail View — Previously, filters were cleared when opening an employee’s detailed timesheet and returning to the list. Filters now remain active when opening and returning from the detailed timesheet view and reset only when the page is refreshed.
  • Sorting Improvements — Sorting capabilities have been enhanced on the Employee Timesheet page to improve data review and navigation.

UZIO Security & Authentication Enhancements

SAML 2.0 Single Sign-On (SSO) Support

UZIO now supports SAML 2.0 based Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing organizations to integrate the platform with external Identity Providers such as Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). This enhancement enables users to securely access UZIO using their organization's existing identity management system.

When SSO is enabled for an organization, employees authenticate through the configured Identity Provider instead of using UZIO password credentials.

Authentication Workflow

  1. Users navigate to the UZIO login page.
  2. Users select the SSO login option and enter their work email address.
  3. UZIO redirects the user to the organization's configured Identity Provider.
  4. The Identity Provider authenticates the user and sends a SAML assertion to UZIO.
  5. UZIO validates the assertion and grants access if a matching user account exists in UZIO.

How to Request Setup

  • Single Sign-On requires configuration and coordination with your organization’s Identity Provider.
  • Organizations interested in enabling SSO should contact support@uzio.com. Our technical team will review the request and work with your organization’s IT administrators to evaluate the setup requirements and guide you through the implementation process.

Things to Note

  • Users must have a matching user account in UZIO based on their work email address for SSO authentication to succeed.
  • This feature is currently available for UZIO platform clients and is not supported for white-label partner environments at this time.

UZIO HRIS Enhancements

Form I-9 Employer Signatory Assignment

Employers can now designate a default signatory responsible for completing Section 2 of Form I-9. This helps ensure the correct employer representative is assigned and improves accountability for completing the employment verification step.

How to Configure

The default signatory can be configured from the Document Library by selecting Configure from the three-dot menu next to the I-9 form.

Things to Note

  • A reporting manager or any other authorized employer user can be designated as the Section 2 signatory.
  • The selected signatory is automatically populated when the I-9 form is assigned to an employee.
  • The signatory can be changed at the time of assignment if needed (this change applies only to that specific assignment)

  • After assignment, the signatory can be updated from Employee Profile → Documents → Change Employer Signatory using the three-dot menu next to the assigned I-9 form.

Form I-9 Workflow Enhancements

Several enhancements have been introduced to improve the Form I-9 completion experience, strengthen E-Verify compliance, and provide better guidance for both employees and employers.

Section 1 Enhancements (Employee Completion)

  • State of Issuance Field for Driver’s License — When employees select Driver’s License as the document type in Section 1, a State of Issuance field is now displayed. This ensures accurate capture of driver’s license details required for E-Verify processing.
  • Supporting Document Upload Updates — Uploading the back photo of supporting documents is now optional during the I-9 submission process for most document types. However, the back photo upload remains mandatory for the following List A documents, as they require E-Verify Photo Matching:
    • U.S. Passport
    • U.S. Passport Card
    • Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551)
    • Employment Authorization Document (Form I-766)

Section 2 Enhancements (Employer Verification)

Two new fields have been added in Section 2 to support employers during the document review and verification process.

  • Alternative Procedure Checkbox — Employers who examine employee documents remotely using a DHS-authorized alternative procedure can now indicate this by selecting the Alternative Procedure checkbox in Section 2, in accordance with USCIS Form I-9 guidance.
  • Additional Information Field — Employers can now record supplementary notes, alternative procedure details, document updates, or other required notations directly in Section 2 before submission.

Mandatory Document Upload Setting

  • A new setting is available under Settings → Preferences that allows employers to require document uploads during Section 1 completion. When enabled, employees must upload their identity and work authorization documents while completing the I-9 form.
  • Download Supporting Documents — This option is now available on the I-9 form. Once the form has been completed and signed by both the employee and employer, authorized users can download the supporting documents at any time directly from the I-9 record.

UZIO Payroll Enhancements

Time Off Balance Visibility on Paystubs

The Time Off section on employee paystubs has been enhanced to give employers greater control over what leave balances are displayed.

  • Employers can now control which time off policies (Paid, Sick, or Unpaid) appear on employee paystubs.
  • A new setting — “Display balance on employee paystubs” — is now available in all Time Off policies.

  • When enabled, employees will see detailed balances for that policy directly on their paystubs.
  • There is no impact to existing policies currently displayed on paystubs, as this setting will be turned On by default for them.

UZIO General Enhancements

California Emergency Contact Notification Authorization

In compliance with the California Workplace Know Your Rights Act (SB 294), by March 30, 2026, employers must provide employees with the option to authorize notification to a designated emergency contact if the employee is arrested or detained at the workplace or during work hours when the employer has knowledge of the event. For more information about the law and employer responsibilities, please refer to the official California guidance available at California Workplace Know Your Rights Act (SB 294).

To support this requirement, UZIO has introduced an update to the Emergency Contact section that allows employees associated with California work locations to optionally provide this authorization.

Things to Note

  • Employees can now select an authorization checkbox when adding or updating their emergency contact information through the Employee Web Portal. By Mid Apr’26, this would also be available to Add/Update on UZIO Mobile App

  • Employees retain the ability to revoke this authorization at any time.
  • For existing employees, the checkbox will appear blank by default, as this field is entirely optional.

What You Can Do

We encourage you to reach out to your employees in California to notify their workforce about this requirement and request that employees log in to the UZIO Employee Web Portal to review or update their emergency contact authorization to help ensure compliance with the new law.

Your Action Needed (YAN) Alerts Enhancement

Your Action Needed (YAN) notifications are now role-based, making them accessible to employer users based on their assigned permissions rather than being limited to Employer Admins.

What’s new

  • Notifications are visible only to users with role permissions.
  • Users with view access can see notifications.
  • Users with full access can review, fix, dismiss, or accept risk.
  • Notifications are automatically removed from all users once resolved or dismissed.
  • Notifications are also removed automatically when the underlying issue (root cause) is resolved.

Org Chart – Head of Organization Access Control

The Org Chart has been updated to provide control over the Head of the Organization selection. With this change,

  • Only Employer Admin users can update the Head of the Organization
  • Other employer users can view the selected head but cannot modify it
