Purpose
What you can change on your own record, what has to go through your employer, and why some of these fields matter more than they look.
What you can update yourself
In the web portal, go to My Info, pick the tab, click the edit (pencil) icon, make your changes and click Update.
You can change four things yourself:
- Personal email
- Phone number
- Home address, which is effective-dated
- Emergency contacts
Your changes take effect immediately. There is no approval step. Every change is recorded in your record's history, and UZIO passes the new values on to the places that need them, payroll included.
Beneficiaries are not edited here. They are managed through the Benefits area, using the Beneficiaries Quick Link on your home page.
What goes through your employer
Anything tied to your employment or your identity: your name, Social Security number corrections, job title, department, work location, work email and compensation. Ask your HR team, who update these in the employer portal. Job-related fields are effective-dated on their side.
Note: Your work email is the address UZIO uses for system email and, in most cases, the address that is your username. If it is wrong, tell your employer. They correct it on your Employee Profile under the Job page.
Why the address matters
Your home address drives your state tax withholding. Moving to another state changes which state taxes you pay, so it is a payroll event and not just a change of mailing address. Tell your employer when you relocate, and update the address before the move takes effect rather than after.
An out-of-date address at the end of the year also means a mailed W-2 goes to the wrong place. Check it before December.
Dependents and beneficiaries drive your benefits. Adding or removing a dependent is a life status change, not a profile edit.
On the mobile app
The UZIO mobile app supports a limited edit, and it is limited to the same four fields: email, phone number, home address and emergency contacts. Your name, date of birth, Social Security number, marital status and dependents cannot be changed in the app, and neither can anything your employer owns. Use the web portal for everything else. See Using the UZIO Mobile App.
Need help?
If a field you need to change is not editable, it belongs to your employer's side of the record. Contact your company's HR team with the correct value and the date it should take effect.
