State Disability Benefit and Paid Family Leave
-
There are states like New Jersey, New York which mandates providing disability and family leave insurance to the employees.
-
Employers can either purchase this insurance through the state plan or can also offer through a private plan.
-
This insurance is different from STD/ LTD plans in terms of eligibility requirements, benefit amounts and duration which are strictly governed by the respective state law.
-
-
Pet Insurance
-
This insurance requires enrollment through an external marketplace link which can be defined in the plan setup, however, UZIO will still maintain a record of the enrollment for easy reference and tracking.
-
This expanded range of benefits further enhances our platform's ability to meet diverse employee needs.
Enrollment Specific Age-Based Guaranteed Issue Amount
Another new powerful enhancement to the platform is Age-Based Guaranteed Issue (GI) Amounts, tailored to specific enrollment scenarios. This new feature allows administrators to define distinct GI rules for Newly Eligible employees, Open Enrollment (OEP) Previously Enrolled employees, and Late Entrants, providing greater flexibility and precision in benefits management.
Moreover, you can now customize GI amounts based on employee age bands. For example, you can set a $50,000 GI amount for employees under 65, $40,000 for those aged 65 to 70, and $35,000 for employees over 70. This enhancement ensures that your benefits offerings are more adaptable to the diverse needs of your workforce, providing a seamless and personalized experience.
Implementing EOI in Critical Illness, Vol STD, and Vol LTD
UZIO now fully supports Evidence of Insurability (EOI) approval for a variety of benefits, including Critical Illness, Voluntary Short-Term Disability (Vol STD), Voluntary Long-Term Disability (Vol LTD), STD Buy-Up, LTD Buy-Up, State Disability Benefit, and Paid Family Leave.
Additionally, these benefits now come with enhanced flexibility through Enrollment-Specific Age-Based Guaranteed Issue Amounts (GIA), allowing you to set customized GI amounts based on employee age and enrollment type. This dual enhancement brings greater precision and personalization to benefit management, empowering employers to offer tailored coverage while streamlining compliance with EOI requirements.
Configurable Age Reduction rules
Previously, UZIO ran the age reduction process on the first of each month, automatically adjusting the coverage amounts for employees who became eligible for age-based reductions in the prior month. This process could only be executed on the first of the month, without flexibility for other dates. Now, we have introduced a set of rules that determine when age-based reductions should be applied to each individual. This configuration is available at the plan level, allowing for greater customization.
