Registering and Logging In to the Employer Portal

Purpose

This article explains how your UZIO employer account is created, how you register, and how you log in. It also covers what to do when the registration email does not arrive, when a link does not work, and when you cannot sign in. UZIO uses one login for everything: the same username and password open the Employer Portal, the Employee Portal, and the UZIO Mobile App.

Who needs this: new Employer Administrators, and anyone newly added to an employer-portal role (payroll admin, HR admin, external accountant, Reporting Manager).

How you get access

There is no public sign-up page. Access always starts with an invitation email from UZIO:

  • Your company is new to UZIO. When your broker or UZIO sets up your company, the person named as the administrator receives an email with a registration link. This person becomes the Employer Administrator, the single primary admin for the company. See Understanding Roles and Access.
  • You were added as a portal user. When the Employer Administrator adds you to a role in Manage Users, UZIO emails you a registration link automatically. The email names the role you were given.
  • You became a Reporting Manager. The role is assigned automatically when employees list you as their manager. You get an email the first time, and you log in with your existing employee credentials. No separate registration is needed.

Before you start

Have the invitation email open. Your username will be the email address the invitation was sent to, so register from that address. If your company would prefer a different address, ask the person who invited you to correct it and resend before you register.

Register

  1. Open the invitation email and click the registration button (Register Now).
  2. Check the Username field. It is pre-filled with the email address you were invited on. Usernames are unique across all of UZIO.
  3. Create a Password and confirm it. The on-screen password policy tells you what the password must contain.
  4. Read and accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
  5. Submit the form.
  6. Log in with your new username and password.

Note: If the email address you were invited on already has a UZIO account (for example, you are already registered as an employee of this company), the link opens the login page instead of a registration form. Log in with your existing credentials. Your new portal access is already attached to that account. You never register twice.

  1. Go to uzio.com and choose Employer from the login drop-down, or bookmark the login page directly.
  2. Enter your username (your email address) and password.
  3. Enter the 2-Step Verification code from your phone when prompted. 2-Step Verification is required on UZIO accounts, with Amazon DSP platform accounts currently excepted. If you have not set it up yet, see Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication.

The login page also offers SSO, Google, Microsoft, and LinkedIn buttons. These work only if you have connected that provider to your UZIO account or your company uses Enterprise Login (below).

Using the UZIO Mobile App

The UZIO Mobile App uses the same username and password as the web portals. Register in a browser first, then sign in to the app. The app is built for employee self-service and for Reporting Managers approving their team's time and time off. Employer-administration tasks such as Manage Users, payroll setup, sending registration links, and company settings are done in the Employer Portal on the web.

Common problems

Why haven't I received my registration email?

  1. Check your spam or junk folder, and any quarantine your company's mail filter keeps. Search for the subject Register on Uzio! (the standard registration email) or Your employer has added you to the UZIO platform. (sent when you are added to a role).
  2. Confirm which address the invitation went to. It must be the address on your user record. A personal address will not receive an invitation sent to your work address.
  3. Ask for a resend:
    • You were added by your Employer Administrator: they open Manage Users, find your name, and choose Send Registration Link from the Actions menu. See Managing Users and Roles.
    • You are an employee waiting for your first login: your HR or payroll admin uses Employees > Actions > Send Registration Link.
    • You are the company's first administrator: the invitation comes from the broker or UZIO team that set up your company. Ask them to resend it.

The link says it has already been used or is no longer valid

Ask for a fresh registration link using the routes above, then use the link in the newest email only. If the newest link still fails, go to Still stuck? and include the exact message you see.

The link opens the login page instead of a registration form

You already have a UZIO account under that email address. Log in with the password you already use. If you have forgotten it, use Need help logging in? on the login page: Resetting a Forgotten Password or Recovering Your Username.

I see "Username has not been registered"

Either you have not registered yet, or you registered under a different email address.

  • Try the other email addresses you might have used.
  • Ask your Employer Administrator to look up your username: Manage Users > Actions > View Username for portal users, or Employees > Actions > View Username for employees.
  • If you have never registered, ask for a registration link (above).

I've entered the wrong password several times and now can't get in

Stop retrying. In UZIO's standard configuration, five failed attempts lock the account, and the lock clears on its own after eight hours. While you wait, use Need help logging in? > I forgot my password so that you have a password you are sure of when the lock lifts. If you need access sooner, or sign-in is still blocked after the lock should have cleared, contact UZIO Support (below) and say when the attempts happened.

I'm registering as the administrator and see "The employer's email address is already registered as a username"

The email address on your company's administrator record already belongs to a UZIO login, perhaps your own employee account with this or another company. Log in with that account instead of registering; your administrator access is attached to it. If you have forgotten that account's password, reset it. If the address belongs to someone else, ask your broker or UZIO to change the administrator email on the company record and resend the invitation.

Our Employer Administrator has left the company

There is exactly one Employer Administrator per company, and only that person or your broker can hand the role to someone else. If the outgoing administrator is still available, they follow Hand over the Employer Administrator role. If they have already left, your broker can make the change from their portal. If you have no broker, contact UZIO Support (below) with your company name and the name and email of the person who should become the Employer Administrator. UZIO will verify the request before making the change.

An employee's registration link fails with "The employee's email address is already registered as a username"

UZIO usernames are unique across the whole platform. The work email on that employee's record already belongs to a UZIO login. Ask the employee whether they already have a UZIO account, for example from a previous employer that used UZIO. If they do, they log in with it; UZIO links their new employment to the existing account. If the address belongs to someone else, correct the employee's email on their record and send the registration link again.

A prospective employee cannot register

The message "Prospective employee cannot be registered until they are invited for onboarding or beyond." means the person is still a prospect who has not been invited to self-onboard. Send the onboarding invitation first. See Setting Up Self-Onboarding.

Enterprise Login (optional, one-time setup)

After registration, your company can configure Enterprise Login so that admins, portal users, and employees sign in with your company's enterprise credentials instead of UZIO passwords. Once enabled, nobody needs a separate UZIO registration, and the UZIO email/password login is no longer used. Your Employer Administrator can set this up. Individual users can also connect their own Google, Microsoft, or LinkedIn account under Account Information > Login Accounts; see Changing Your Password or Username.

Still stuck?

Please reach out to us at support@uzio.com or call +1-571-601-1752. Include your company name, the email address you are trying to register or log in with, the exact message on screen (a screenshot helps), and roughly when the problem started. Do not send your password.
