Using the Time Kiosk

Purpose

Clocking in and out on the shared tablet at your worksite: logging in, what Photo Security means for you, and fixing PIN problems.

Logging in

Depending on how your company set up the kiosk, you log in with your PIN or Face Unlock + PIN. Your PIN arrives at your registered email when your company activates its first kiosk. On the kiosk you can clock in/out and start/end breaks (unless your company restricts breaks to another platform).

What the kiosk can't do: The kiosk is for punches (and attestation) only — there's no way to add or edit a time entry on it. Forgot a punch or need to fix one? Make the correction on the web portal or mobile app, or ask your manager to fix it — see Troubleshooting: I Forgot to Clock In or Out.

Face Unlock (facial recognition)

If your company enables it, you can log in to the kiosk with a face scan instead of typing your PIN — faster, and it helps prevent buddy punching. Face Unlock is available only when your company has turned it on at the company level; your PIN always stays as a backup.

You enroll your face once, then use it on every login. Enroll in either place:

On the kiosk:

  1. Log in with your PIN.
  2. Go to Settings → Set Up Face Scan.
  3. Review and accept the consent message.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to capture your face scan.
  5. You'll see a confirmation once enrollment is saved.

In the UZIO Mobile App (saves waiting at the kiosk — the scan syncs to the kiosk automatically):

  1. Open the UZIO Mobile App.
  2. Go to Menu → Kiosk Login → Set Up Face Scan.
  3. Review and accept the consent message.
  4. Capture your face scan — enrollment saves automatically for kiosk login.

Manage or re-enroll your face data anytime, on either the kiosk or the app:

  • On the kiosk: log in, tap the security gear icon on the home screen, then choose Delete Face Data (remove your enrollment) or Set Up Face Data (re-enroll).
  • In the mobile app: Menu → Kiosk Login, then Delete Face Data or Set Up Face Data.

Note: Capturing a face scan requires accepting UZIO's biometric consent. Face Unlock will not appear if your company hasn't enabled it — use your PIN.

Forgot your PIN?

Three ways back in. They do different things — one re-sends the PIN you already have, the others give you a new one — and mixing them up is the usual reason a PIN problem drags on:

  1. On the kiosk — Forgot PIN: tap Forgot PIN. Your existing PIN is re-sent to your registered email (and SMS, if your phone number is on file). Nothing changes, so this is the fastest fix when you've simply forgotten it.
  2. Self-service reset: employee portal > Reset Kiosk PIN (Quick Links), or in the mobile app under the Biometric Login menu (these menu and quick-link names are per the current KB and may differ in your current app or portal). You choose a new PIN yourself.
  3. Ask your manager or administrator. They have two separate actions:
    • Reset Kiosk PIN — they set a new 6-digit PIN for you. If notifications are on, you get an email/SMS telling you the new PIN.
    • Send Kiosk PIN — they re-send your existing PIN to your email/SMS without changing it.

DSP note: For Delivery Service Partner (DSP) accounts, managers and admins cannot view or reset kiosk PINs — the control is switched off for those accounts, so PIN resets are self-service. Use Forgot PIN on the kiosk, the Reset Kiosk PIN Quick Link in the employee portal, or the UZIO Mobile App. Your admin can still re-send your existing PIN with Send Kiosk PIN.

PIN never arrives? Check with your employer that your work email and phone number are correct on your record — then ask them to re-send it (Send Kiosk PIN) or, if your account allows it, to reset it for you.

Note: Whether an admin can see your current PIN depends on the same account setting. On accounts where PIN editing is switched off (DSP accounts), the PIN is masked for employer users and nobody at your company can read it back to you. Either way, a reset or re-send always delivers the PIN to your own email or phone, not to theirs.

Photo Security

If enabled, the kiosk takes a photo at clock-in and clock-out, attached to your time entry for verification — your employer (and you, via Check Photo on your timesheet) can see it. Your company must collect your written consent before enabling photo capture, and biometric features (like Face Unlock) require accepting UZIO's Biometric Policy.

If the kiosk misbehaves

  • Unresponsive: refresh the browser page or restart the tablet; check the internet connection — then tell your manager.
  • Camera/photo problems: browser camera permission is usually the culprit — an admin fixes it in the device's browser settings.
